Magic
Eight types of magic exist within the Elemental Realm, each tied to one of the nine realms of existence.
How Magic Manifests
- Gods — command all types of that realms magic.
- Mages — command only one type of that realms magic.
- Wielders — control a single aspect of a magic type.
- Enchanters — born with magic that cannot be accessed.
Example: an Elemental God controls all four elements; an Elemental Mage controls all aspects of one element (either fire water air or earth); an Elemental Wielder may wield parts of one element (one earth wielder may control stone but not plants); an Elemental enchanter cannot use magic.
Rhysallian Calendar
In the Elemental Realm, time moves differently than in the mortal world. The the twin moons and the shifting pulse of magic are what announce the seasonal change.
Seasons
There are 6 equal seasons of 117 days making Rhysalla total year 702 days.
- First Thaw — winter loosening its grip
- High Bloom — vibrant, dangerous growth
- Suncrest — peak heat and political movement
- Emberfall — slow-burning decline
- Deep Fade — cold settling in
- Long Night — the stillness between endings and beginnings
Weeks
Rather than months. Time is calculated by weeks. Each week has 9 days.
Days
A day stretches to 32 hours. The sun rises at sunmark and sets at sunturn.
